Apparently Arctic Terns are fond of early mornings, I was awoken at about 04:07 (about?) and decided after 20 mins of their cacophonous dawn chorus that I’d get up n take some pics. Here are a few iPhone ones…

Sadly later in the day I drove by Rif where Terns haven’t quite learned about the dangers of lying in the road and there were quite a few dead ones scattered about. The young are fledging about now and it seems to have made them all a bit crazy.
